Supervisor Mar introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Brandon Lee in recognition of his activism and bravery after the assassination attempt on his life by the Philippine government. Supervisor Chan introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Matilda "Miss Tilly" Abbe on the occasion of her retirement after 52 years teaching ballet to thousands of San Francisco children. Supervisor Safai introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Ahmed Abozayd on the occasion of his retirement after 25 years of service with SEIU Local 87 and the 23 years he served as Vice President.
