            The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session, in-person
            with remote access and public comment also available via telephone, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022,
            with President Shamann Walton presiding.

            President Walton called the meeting to order at 10:05 p.m.

            The Board of Supervisors and its committees convene hybrid meetings that allow in-person

            who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula, pursuant to Board Rule 4.7.1.

            Sponsors: Ronen; Walton and Preston
            Ordinance amending the Administrative Code to prohibit the Police Department or other City
            departments from uploading or storing DNA profiles from crime victims reference samples (“Victim
            Reference DNA Profiles”) in any City DNA database that is not subject to the federal and state rules
            governing Combined DNA Index Systems (“CODIS”) databases (“Non-CODIS DNA Databases”), and
            from storing DNA profiles obtained from crime scene evidence (“Evidentiary DNA Profiles”) in any
            Non-CODIS DNA Database for longer than 60 days; to require that, by July 1, 2022, or 15 days after
            the effective date of this ordinance, the Police Department purge from Non-CODIS DNA Databases
            Evidentiary DNA Profiles stored for longer than 60 days and Victim Reference DNA Profiles stored for
            any length of time; and to limit the Police Department and other City departments to using
            Non-CODIS DNA Databases only for quality assurance purposes, and not for any investigative
            purposes; to require the Controller to submit an audit report regarding Non-CODIS DNA Databases;
            and to require posting on the Police Department website and other City websites a description of how
            the Department handles and stores a Victim’s DNA .

Farewell Remarks
            Supervisor Haney officially announced that he will be resigning from the Board of Supervisors on
            Tuesday, May 3, 2022; therefore, this will be his last Board meeting. He is being sworn into the
            California State Assembly, representing District 17, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. He
            thanked the Members of the Board, his Legislative Aides, the Clerk of the Board and her staff, and
            the various City Departments for the collaboration and efforts during his tenure. He promised to
            continue working to serve San Francisco and offered an open invitation to continue his work with the
            Board and City on the many important and pressing issues that he can assist with in his next role.
            Members of the Board provided their thoughts and well wishes to Assembly Member-elect Haney.

            Clerk Calvillo informed the Board that the Engrossed Resolution for outgoing Supervisor Haney,
            pursuant to Board Rule 6.11.1, will be considered by the Board at the May 3, 2022, meeting.
