The Mayor may address the Board initially for up to five minutes. Discussion shall not exceed two minutes per question or answer. 1. Seasonal and Event Workers’ Health Care Security and Employment Opportunities (District 11) Mayor London N. Mayor Breed then discussed the above referenced topic submitted by the District 11 Supervisor. Supervisor Safai began the discussions by asking the following question: What can we do to help those workers maintain their health care when the minimum number of events is harder to meet? Mayor Breed responded that the City’s efforts for economic recovery are underway, and they are working to increase the number of events in order to provide the hours that these employees need to be eligible for health care. It’s important to remember that some industries will be slower to recover. Supervisor Safai then followed up with the following question: What can we do to find employment opportunities for that loss of income for those who cannot get back to work? Mayor Breed responded that she is willing to work with all parties and the Office of Economic and Workforce Development will continue its efforts to bring people back to the City and connect them to job opportunities.
