President Yee called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. Remote Access to Information and Participation In accordance with Governor Gavin Newsom’s statewide order for all residents to “Stay at Home” - and the numerous preceding local and state proclamations, orders and supplemental directions - aggressive directives have been issued to slow down and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. On March 17, 2020, the Board of Supervisors authorized their Board and Committee meetings to convene remotely and allow for remote public comment; therefore, Board of Supervisors meetings that are held through videoconferencing will allow remote public comment. The SFGovTV website (www.sfgovtv.org) streamed the meeting live, and it was streamed online through Microsoft Teams. As the COVID-19 disease progresses, please visit the Board’s website regularly to be updated on the current situation as it affects the legislative process and the Board of Supervisors. This precaution is taken pursuant to Governor Gavin Newsom’s statewide ‘Stay at Home’ Order - and all preceding and proceeding local, state and federal orders, declarations and directives. Board Members will attend the meeting through videoconference (or by telephone if the video fails) and participate in the meeting to the same extent as if they were present. Public participation during the meeting is wanted and needed, so different levels of remote involvement have been arranged, from watching the meeting on SFGOVTV Channel 26 to providing public comment by phone remotely. The Family Income Relief program will provide a monthly income relief of $500 for San Francisco residents with children or dependents attending SFUSD public schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents will include: permanent residency card holders, undocumented immigrants, and independent contract workers including online platform workers, gig workers, contract firm workers, on-call workers, temporary workers, and workers who receive pay under the table-these are all populations that are not covered under the Federal Stimulus Plan and do not receive any federal benefits. The Human Rights Commission will develop rules, regulations, guidance, forms and procedures as necessary to effectuate the purposes and implementation of the Family Income Relief Program.
