Board of Supervisors Meeting Minutes 7/9/2019 ADDENDUM The following information is provided by speaker(s), pursuant to Administrative Code, Section 67.16. The content is neither generated by, nor subject to approval or verification of accuracy by, the Clerk of the Board or the Board of Supervisors. Susana submitted the following additional information during General Public Comment, as follows: “Some Supervisors voted for Peskin’s resolution to name Chinatown Rose Pak Station to merely follow the author’s lead. But please consider: 1. What if the views of the author does not represent District 3? 2. This naming is VERY controversial and divided the Chinese community. The simplest way out is to rescind it. So why do you want to aid to stir up the community? 3. A matter of principle. San Francisco is known for supporting the rights of the oppressed minorities and religious freedom. By agreeing to insert Pak’s name, it is inevitable to make your constituents feel that you may not care for the people who were bullied by her, including the merchants, residents and people of religious faith who were attached by Pak thru carrying out Community China’s policy. I urge you to use judgement and principles, which would win respect from Chinese community and constituents.” City and County of San Francisco Page 612 Printed at 2:12 pm on 8/20/19
