Board of Supervisors Sitting as a Committee of the Whole 161211 [Hearing - Committee of the Whole - Resolution of Necessity to Acquire a Lease by Eminent Domain - Central Shops Relocation - 1975 Galvez Avenue] Hearing of the Board of Supervisors sitting as a Committee of the Whole on November 29, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., to hold a public hearing on a Resolution of Necessity (File No. 161101) authorizing the acquisition of a lease at the real property commonly known as 1975 Galvez Avenue, Assessor’s Parcel Block No. 5250, Lot No. 016, by eminent domain for the public purpose of completing and constructing the Central Shops Relocation, scheduled pursuant to Motion No. M16-155, approved by the Board on November 1, 2016. (Clerk of the Board) President Breed opened the public hearing and inquired as to whether any member of the public wished to address the Board relating to the acquisition of various properties as referenced in File No. 161101. Supervisors Peskin and Cohen made opening remarks. John Updike, Director (Real Estate Division), provided an overview of the project and responded to questions raised throughout the discussion. There were no other speakers. President Breed declared public comment closed and adjourned as the Committee of the Whole, and reconvened as the Board of Supervisors.
