SPECIAL ORDER 2:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations
            Supervisor Campos, seconded by Supervisor Yee, moved to suspend Rule 5.36 of the Rules of Order
            of the Board of Supervisors to grant privilege of the floor to the following guests. The motion carried
            by the following vote:
                 Ayes: 11 - Avalos, Breed, Campos, Cohen, Farrell, Kim, Mar, Peskin, Tang, Wiener, Yee
            Supervisor Campos introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Ruth Mahaney
            in recognition of her many accomplishments as a civil rights activist, educator, and Modern Times
            Collective member. Supervisor Mar shared in this commendation.

            Supervisor Yee introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Sarah Burton and
            staff, on behalf of San Francisco SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone), Inc., in recognition of SF
            SAFE’s 40th Anniversary and many accomplishments engaging, educating, and empowering San
            Franciscans to build safer and more vibrant neighborhoods through crime prevention and public
            safety services. Supervisors Farrell, Campos, Kim, Cohen and Mar shared in this commendation.

            Supervisor Mar introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Brewster Kahle,
            founder of the Internet Archive, in recognition of the Internet Archive’s 20th Anniversary and his
            many accomplishments as an advocate of “universal access to all knowledge.”

            Supervisor Tang introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Bernice Lassiter,
            a founder of Polly Ann Ice Cream, in recognition of her 90th Birthday and her many achievements
            and continued community support.

            Supervisor Wiener introduced, welcomed, and presented Certificates of Honor to Frank Shreve
            and Paulo de Souza, Jr. (Municipal Transportation Agency) in recognition of their heroic and
            selfless actions intervening to save a stabbing victim on Market Street and detaining the suspect
            until the police arrived. John Haley (Municipal Transportation Agency) shared in this
            commendation.
