Board of Supervisors Meeting Minutes 8/8/2016 Members Present: London Breed, Jane Kim, Eric Mar, Aaron Peskin, Katy Tang, Scott Wiener, and Norman Yee The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in special session on Monday, August 8, 2016, with President London Breed presiding. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President Breed called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. On the call of the roll, Supervisors Avalos, Campos, Cohen, Farrell, and Yee were noted not present. There was a quorum. COMMUNICATIONS President Breed shared an In Memoriam for Dick Shaff, the Vice President/General Manager at SMG/Moscone Center, in recognition of his many years of service to the City and County of San Francisco and numerous accomplishments throughout his life. Supervisor Peskin shared in this recognition. Supervisor Peskin requested that the In Memoriam be issued on behalf of the entire Board. The request was approved without objection. Supervisor Avalos Excused from Attendance Supervisor Peskin, seconded by Supervisor Mar, moved that Supervisor Avalos be excused from attending today’s meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: 6 - Breed, Kim, Mar, Peskin, Tang, Wiener Excused: 4 - Avalos, Campos, Cohen, Farrell Absent: 1 - Yee Supervisor Yee was noted present at 2:09 p.m. Supervisors Campos, Cohen and Farrell Excused from Attendance Supervisor Wiener, seconded by Supervisor Peskin, moved that Supervisors Campos, Cohen, and Farrell be excused from attending today’s meeting. (Fiscal Impact) Privilege of the floor was granted unanimously to Todd Rydstrom (Office of the City Controller) who responded to questions raised throughout the discussion.
