SPECIAL ORDER 3:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations
            Supervisor Wiener, seconded by Supervisor Mar, moved to suspend Rule 5.36 of the Rules of Order of
            the Board of Supervisors to grant privilege of the floor to the following guests. The motion carried by
            the following vote:
                 Ayes: 11 - Avalos, Breed, Campos, Cohen, Farrell, Kim, Mar, Peskin, Tang, Wiener, Yee
            Supervisor Wiener introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Gary Weiss in
            recognition of his retirement and his many accomplishments and continued community support.
            Supervisor Peskin shared in this commendation.

            ASIAN PACIFIC HERITAGE MONTH
            Supervisor Mar provided opening remarks. Supervisors introduced, welcomed, and presented
            Certificates of Honor to individuals in recognition of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, their
            accomplishments, and their continued community support as referenced below:
            Supervisor Mar recognized Irene Dea Collier (The Association of Chinese Teachers);
            Supervisor Tang recognized Stella Ip (Self Help for the Elderly);
            Supervisor Wiener recognized Myriam Cheng (APA Community Center);
            Supervisor Avalos recognized Tiffany Ng (Chinese Progressive Association);
            Supervisor Yee recognized Terry Carlson (Branch Manager, West Portal Branch Library);
            Supervisor Breed recognized Lawrence Li (SF Bicycle Coalition);
            Supervisor Cohen recognized Eleanore Fernandez (Public Utilities Commission);
            Supervisor Farrell recognized Mel Lee (District 2, Chinatown Community Leader);
            Supervisor Kim recognized Garrick Lew, deceased (Founder, Asian Law Caucus);
            Supervisor Peskin recognized Rose Pak (Chinese Chamber of Commerce); and
            Supervisor Campos recognized Kash Feng (Owner, Breakfast at Tiffany’s).
            Claudine Cheng provided closing remarks.

            President Breed introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Harvey Rose
            (Budget and Legislative Analyst) in recognition of his 80th birthday and for his decades of tireless
            service to the people of the City and County of San Francisco. The entire Board of Supervisors
            and the Clerk of the Board shared in this commendation.



            Supervisor Mar was noted absent at 6:15 p.m. and for the remainder of the meeting.
