            Privilege of the floor was granted to Mikail Ali, Deputy Chief of Police, who responded to questions
            raised throughout the discussion. Supervisor Avalos requested to divide consideration of the
            question by proposing two distinct votes on the motion offered by Supervisors Breed and Wiener.
            Supervisor Breed, seconded by Supervisor Wiener, moved that this Resolution be AMENDED on Page
            2, Lines 6 through 7, by striking 'WHEREAS, San Francisco's police staffing goals should reflect its
            current and future needs, not the needs of the city from 20 years ago; and'; beginning on Line 16, by
            adding 'WHEREAS, The 15 peer cities studied in the Controller's report average 271 police officers per
