Appointment of President Pro Tempore
            At the request of President Mandelman, Supervisor Walton assumed the chair at 2:57 p.m. The
            President resumed the chair at 2:58 p.m.



SPECIAL ORDER 2:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations
            Without objection, Rule 5.36 of the Rules of Order for the Board of Supervisors was suspended to
            grant privilege of the floor to the following guest(s).


            President Mandelman introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Kathrin Moore
            (Planning Commission) on the occasion of her retirement after serving 20 years as a Planning
            Commissioner and in recognition of her countless accomplishments as a professional architect and
            urban designer that has shaped numerous development projects in San Francisco. Supervisors
            Walton, Melgar, Chen, and Chan shared in this commendation.

            Supervisor Melgar introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Mary Cervantes on
            the occasion of her 100th Birthday and in recognition of her lifetime of accomplishments and
            dedication to her family and community. Supervisor Walton shared in this commendation.

            Supervisor Walton introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Patti Lee (Office of
            the Public Defender) on the occasion of her retirement after more than 49 years of public service and
            in recognition of her tireless defense and advocacy for the fair treatment of youth and juvenile justice
            reform. Supervisor Chan shared in this commendation. Mano Raju, Public Defender, provided
            additional commending remarks.

            Supervisor Sauter introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Xianqi Chen in
            recognition of her accomplishments as an artist and filmmaker and advocacy for the LGBTQ
            community.

            Supervisor Wong introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Amos Lim (Chinese
            for Affirmative Action) in recognition of his accomplishments and continued community support.

            President Mandelman introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Cliff’s Variety,
            accepted by Terry Asten Bennet, on the occasion of their 90th Anniversary and in recognition of their
            accomplishments as a staple business in the Castro neighborhood since 1936.
