SPECIAL ORDER 3:00 P.M.

Board of Supervisors Sitting as a Committee of the Whole

101456 [Public Hearing - Process for the Appointment of a Successor Mayor; Possibly
 Amending Rules of Order]
 Hearing to discuss the proposed Motion to consider and approve a one-time process to appoint a
 successor Mayor, if a vacancy occurs; possibly amending the Rules of Order by adding a new
 Section 7, creating said process; and waiving Rule 4.38, which refers amendments to the Rules of
 Order to the Rules Committee. (Clerk of the Board)
 The President inquired as to whether any member of the public wished to address the Board
 relating to the proposed selection process as referenced in File No. 101457. Angela Calvillo, Clerk
 of the Board, provided an overview of the proposed process. A question and answer period
 followed. Ms. Calvillo responded to questions raised throughout the discussion. Francisco
 DaCosta; Abdallah Megaheed; Walter Paulson; Stephanie Lemos; Julian Davis; Daniel Landry;
 Male Speaker; Eric Brooks; Douglas Yep; Antonio Morales; Male Speaker; Male Speaker; Female
 Speaker; Otto Duffy; expressed various concerns relating to proposed process. There were no
 other speakers. Another question and answer period followed. Orry P. Korb and Nancy J. Clark,
 Outside Counsel from Santa Clara County, responded to questions raised throughout the
 discussion. The President declared public comment closed and adjourned as the Committee of the
 Whole, reconvening as the Board of Supervisors.
