ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The meeting was called to order at 10:09 a.m. On the call of the roll Supervisors Maxwell, McGoldrick and Sandoval were noted absent. There was a quorum. Supervisor Maxwell was noted present at 10:11 a.m. CLOSED SESSION Supervisor Ammiano, seconded by Supervisor Dufty, moved to convene in closed session. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: 8 - Alioto-Pier, Ammiano, Daly, Dufty, Elsbernd, Jew, Mirkarimi, Peskin Absent: 3 - Maxwell, McGoldrick, Sandoval 070486 [[Closed Session - Public Employee Appointment - Clerk of the Board, Legislative Administrator and City Clerk]] Supervisor Peskin Motion that the Board of Supervisors convene in closed session to discuss the Public Employee Appointment - Clerk of the Board, Legislative Administrator and City Clerk. This closed session is permitted by Government Code Section 54957, and the San Francisco Administrative Code Section 67.10 (b) The Board recessed at the hour of 10:10 a.m. to convene in closed session pursuant to the above motion. Public Comment: Kimo Crossman James Chaffee [Elect To Disclose] Motion that the Board finds it is in the public interest to disclose information discussed in closed session, and directs the President immediately to disclose that information. Elect Not to Disclose] Motion that the Board finds that it is in the best interest of the public that the Board elect at this time not to disclose its closed session deliberations concerning the pending public employment appointment. Supervisor Mirkarimi, seconded by Supervisor Jew, moved to not disclose. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: 9 - Alioto-Pier, Ammiano, Daly, Dufty, Elsbernd, Jew, Maxwell, Mirkarimi, Peskin Absent: 2 - McGoldrick, Sandoval 070527 [Appointment of Clerk of the Board] Motion appointing Angela Calvillo as the Clerk of the Board pursuant to Charter section 2.117 as of July 1, 2007. (Board of Supervisors) Enacted Number: M07-50 Supervisor Dufty, seconded by Supervisor Jew, moved that this Motion be APPROVED. The Board considers ordinances and resolutions, most of which have been the subject of hearings before the standing committees of the board at which members of the public are urged to testify. The full Board does not hold a second public hearing on measures which have been heard in committee. Board procedures do not permit: 1) persons in the audience to vocally express support or opposition to statements by Supervisors or by other persons testifying; 2) ringing and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices, (Violators may be removed from the meeting room.) 3) signs to be brought into the meeting or displayed in the room; and 4)standing in the Legislative Chamber.
