SPECIAL ORDER 2:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations


Privilege of the Floor
              Supervisor Yee, seconded by Supervisor Farrell, moved to suspend Rule 5.36 of the Rules of Order of
              the Board of Supervisors to grant privilege of the floor to the following guests. The motion carried by
              the following vote:

                   Ayes: 11 - Avalos, Breed, Campos, Chiu, Cohen, Farrell, Kim, Mar, Tang, Wiener, Yee
              Supervisor Yee introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Michele Rutherford,
              Director of Office of Early Care and Education, in recognition of her work and accomplishments to
              improve early childhood care and education.

              Supervisor Chiu introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Bond Yee, Director of
              Sustainable Streets, Municipal Transportation Agency, in recognition of his accomplishments and 32
              years of distinguished service with the City and County of San Francisco.

              Supervisor Chiu introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Melanie Nutter,
              Director of the Department of the Environment, in recognition of her accomplishments and
              distinguished service with the City and County of San Francisco.

              Supervisor Farrell introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to The BASIC (Bay
              Area Scholarships for Inner-City Children) Fund in recognition of their accomplishments broadening
              the educational opportunities for inner-city children and continued community support.

              Supervisor Kim introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Sgt. Malcolm
              Anderson, Officer Matthew Friedman, Jerry Chen, and David Spector in recognition of their
              accomplishments in recovering stolen bicycles during several successful sting operations last year.
