(Recreation and Parks Department) Resolution No. 845-99 ADOPTED 991460 [State grant funds to be used for trail improvement, erosion control and restoration to be performed by S.F. The representative from the Department of Public Works reported that a design solution was discussed with the appellant which will permit the department to approve the permit. Report on Closed Session Deputy City Attorney Ted Lakey reported that the Board has met in closed session with the City Attorney regarding above pending litigation, as permitted by Government Code Section 54956.9(a ). Resolution No. 853-99 ADOPTED 991726 [State Legislation, AB 1039 CalWORKs Program] Supervisors Leno, Bierman, Katz Resolution endorsing the intent of Assembly Bill 1039 regarding the CalWORKs Program and urging the California State Legislature to amend Assembly Bill 1039 to allow parents enrolled in a self-initiated education program to count two hours of study time for each hour of class time toward their weekly required hours of work activity. Resolution No. 854-99 ADOPTED 991727 [Parking Plan - South Beach/China Basin South of Market] Supervisors Yee, Bierman, Newsom, Katz Resolution urging the Department of Parking and Traffic to work with the residents in the South Beach/China Basin/South of Market area to develop a comprehensive parking plan for the residents in the immediate vicinity of Pacific Bell Park. Resolution No. 855-99 ADOPTED 991728 [Commendation] Supervisors Newsom, Bierman, Katz Resolution commending Rainforest Action Network and other groups who led a two year campaign resulting in a landmark policy change which is a step in the direction of eliminating sales of old growth wood; Home Depot for taking steps in phasing out sales for old growth forest wood; and encouraging the Forest Certification Council as defining certified wood as not coming from old growth forests.
