Resolution No. 720-99 Requests Granted By Supervisor Newsom, that letter be sent to the City Attorney to draft an amendment to Police Code Section 674, the outdoor advertising ban, which would not permit interior tobacco advertising within three feet of candy or non-alcoholic beverage displays or below 4 feet in height and out of direct sight of small children. By Supervisors Becerril, Leno, Katz, that letters be sent to the Director, Department of Telecommunication and Information Services and Director, Administrative Services concerning City departments use of internet auctions to dispose of excess equipment, materials and other items. The Supervisor inquires whether a feasibility study can be conducted by the Department of Administrative Services, in consultation with the Department of Telecommunication and Information Services, to determine if incorporating on-line internet auctions and sales may provide an opportunity for more efficient disposal of items by the office of the Public Guardian/Public Administrator and other City departments.
