By Supervisor Katz, that letter be sent to the Director, Department of Public Works to inquire of the Street Construction Coordination Center, that it prepare a status report on current and planned street excavation projects in the South of Market Area (SOMA) using Geographic Information System data and that it includes information on what efforts have been made to coordinate street excavation projects on SOMA streets to minimize the number and length of these projects in this area. By Supervisors Katz, Newsom, that letter be sent to the Director, Department of Telecommunications and Information Services and the Treasurer to determine the status of the City e-commerce services and public information availability; status and progress of the City Access initiative; e-commerce services currently available on-line; e-commerce services anticipated in the near future; long-term e-commerce opportunities; how e-commerce service delivery has been incorporated into the two department’s 1999-2000 budget requests; if current resources are sufficient to substantially increase the level and quality of e-commerce services; whether budget enhancements are necessary and requested; and if these enhancements have been given priority status.
