C. this past summer through a program sponsored by the United States Department of Education, San Francisco Housing Authority and Superintendent of Schools. These students did not permit any negative stigma of living in public housing to break their spirit in achieving presidential classroom recognition and for maintaining a B or above academic level. Supervisor Medina introduced and welcomed members of the San Francisco delegation to Mexico who spoke briefly of the San Francisco Educational Mission to Mexico: Catalina Valencia, President, Centro Cultural Mexicano; Dr. Rosa E. Apodaca, Assistant Superintendent for Program Development, San Francisco Unified School District and Peter Daley, Port Maritime Director. By Supervisor Yee, that letter of inquiry be sent to General Manager, Municipal Railway and Chief of Police concerning an incident between Jimmy Kam and an Municipal Railway employee to determine the circumstances by which Mr. Kam was injured and accosted on the 9x Muni bus on December 4, 1998 at approximately 10:40 a.m.; details of the incident when lead to the altercation; circumstances by which Mr. Kam was cited by the police and a review of the issuance of that citation.
