JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Monday, September 16, 1996 - 2:00 p.m. The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above date with President Kevin Shelley presiding. CALLING THE ROLL The meeting was called to order at 2:12 p.m. On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were noted present: Supervisors Alioto, Ammiano, Bierman, Brown, Katz, Kaufman, Leal, Shelley, Teng, Yaki - 10. Presentation of Guests Suspension of the Rules Presentation Made Supervisor Katz, seconded by Supervisor Yaki, moved to suspend the Rules of Order of the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of presenting a certificate of honor to the organization Youth Making A Change (Y-MAC) and to grant privilege of the floor to the youths present today. No objection and motion carried. On behalf of Y-MAC, William Walker thanked the members of the Board of Supervisors who participated in the Youth Vote'96 program. (See infra.) Racquel, representing the Mission District to the Youth Summit invited the Supervisors to come and submit their ideas. Recommendation of Government Efficiency and Labor Committee Adopted as Amended [State Grant, Suppression of Drug Abuse in Schools] Resolution authorizing the Chief of Police to retroactively apply for, accept and expend funds in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), for a project known as the "Suppression of Drug Abuse in the Schools" ((and agreeing to provide an in-kind match in the amount of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00))).
