JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS

 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

 Monday, August 5, 1996 - 2:00 p.m.

 The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above

 date.

 CALLING THE ROLL

 In the absence of President Kevin Shelley, the meeting was called to order at 2:04 p.m. by the Clerk.

 On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were noted present:

 Supervisors Ammiano, Bierman, Brown, Kaufman, Teng, Yaki - 6.

 Noted absent at first roll call:

 Supervisors Alioto, Hsieh, Katz, Leal, Shelley - 5.

 call on the President of Zimbabwe to disavow the homophobic policies

 his government has pursued and take steps to protect the human and
