 Monday, July 22, 1996 - 2:00 p.m.

 The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above

 date with President Kevin Shelley presiding.

 The meeting was called to order at 2:22 p.m. On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were

 Ordinance calling and providing for a Special Election to be held in

 the City and County of San Francisco on Tuesday, November 5, 1996, for

 the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City and County of San

 Francisco propositions to incur the following bonded debts of the

 City and County: (1) $73,300,000 for the acquisition, construction

 and/or reconstruction of a new museum facility to replace the De Young

 Museum; and (2) $100,000,000 for the financing of the low-income

 housing and down-payment assistance to low and moderate first-time

 homebuyers; and that the estimated cost of said projects is and will

 be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue

 of the City and County and will require expenditures greater than the

 amount allowed therefor by the annual tax levy; reciting the estimated

 costs of such projects; fixing the date of election and the manner of

 holding such election and the procedure for voting for or against the

 propositions; fixing the maximum rate of interest on said bonds and

 closed session with the City Attorney for the purpose of reviewing the

 City's position on whether the City should initiate litigation against

 Viacom and/or TCI related to telecommunications franchise issues, as

 permitted by Government Code Section 54956.9(c).

 The meeting was informational only and no action was taken.
