260216 [Administrative Code - Fire Code Technical Advisory Council]
            Sponsors: Sherrill; Sauter and Mandelman
            Ordinance amending the Administrative Code to establish the Fire Code Technical Advisory Council
            to evaluate and advise the Board of Supervisors, the Mayor, and the Fire Department, on the criteria
            and types of evidence the Fire Marshal should consider in determining whether to waive, modify, or
            delay certain compliance requirements under the Fire Code that certain existing high-rise residential
            buildings have sprinkler systems; and to set forth the membership and duties of the Fire Code
            Technical Advisory Council.

SPECIAL ORDER 2:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations
            Without objection, Rule 5.36 of the Rules of Order for the Board of Supervisors was suspended to
            grant privilege of the floor to the following guest(s).


            Supervisor Chen introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Commander Amy
            Hurwitz (San Francisco Police Department) in recognition of her leadership, accomplishments and
            outstanding public service. Supervisors Melgar, Walton, Dorsey, and Mandelman shared in this
            commendation.

            Supervisor Sauter introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Kristie Fairchild,
            Executive Director (North Beach Citizens), in recognition of her accomplishments and continued
            community support.

            President Mandelman introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to the Department
            of Emergency Management’s 2025 award recipients Karen Colindres, Dispatcher of the Year, and
            Zoila Lechuga, Supervisor of the Year, in recognition of their outstanding public service and
            dedication to providing compassionate support to San Franciscans in critical situations. Mary Ellen
            Carroll, Executive Director (Department of Emergency Management), provided additional
            commending remarks.
