Pursuant to Charter, Sections 2.103 and 3.100(7), and Administrative Code, Section 2.11, the Mayor
shall discuss eligible topics submitted from the Supervisors. The Mayor may address the Board
initially for up to five minutes. Discussion shall not exceed two minutes per question or answer.

The following topic was noticed on the agenda representing District 1:

            1. Skilled Nursing Home Needs and Senior Services in the Richmond.
Mayor Daniel Lurie addressed the Board of Supervisors regarding the proposed Ordinance he recently
introduced regarding core initiatives to strengthen the City’s responses to homelessness, drug
abuse, mental health needs, and related crises. Mayor Lurie thanked his co-sponsors, the President
for waiving the 30-day hold, and Chair Chan for agendizing the matter at tomorrow’s Budget and
Finance Committee. Mayor Lurie then discussed the above referenced topic submitted by the
            District 1 Supervisor.

Supervisor Chan began the discussion by asking the following question: What is your vision for the
site [of St. Anne’s Home, a long-standing Skilled Nursing Facility scheduled to close in April] and
how can we partner on delivering on a joint vision to continue supporting our seniors in the Richmond
and beyond? Mayor Lurie expressed his sympathy for the residents, reiterated his commitment to
support them through this transition, and indicated he would continue exploring all possibilities by
consulting with various City departments and the District 1 Supervisor to find a common solution.
Mayor Lurie did not ask any follow-up questions related to this topic.
