SPECIAL ORDER 2:30 P.M. - Recognition of Commendations
            Without objection, Rule 5.36 of the Rules of the Board of Supervisors was suspended to grant
            privilege of the floor to the following guest(s).


            President Peskin introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Amy Gubser, an
            open-water marathon swimmer, in recognition of her remarkable feat becoming the first person to
            swim from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Farallon Islands, a 29.7 mile swim that took 17 hours while
            fighting through extraordinarily cold and shark-infested waters.

            Supervisor Dorsey introduced, welcomed, and presented Certificates of Honor to Seve Ghose,
            Executive Director of the Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy, and Carol Tang, Executive Director of
            the Children’s Creative Museum, in recognition of their efforts coordinating with the San Francisco
            Unified School District on the Climate Youth Summit at Yerba Buena Gardens during Earth Week.
            Tyrone Jue, Director (Department of the Environment), provided additional commending remarks.

            Supervisor Mandelman introduced, welcomed, and presented Certificates of Honor to Donna Sachet,
            the “First Lady of the Castro,” and Gary Virginia in recognition of their efforts coordinating and
            organizing the last annual PRIDE brunch.

            Supervisor Ronen introduced, welcomed, and presented a Certificate of Honor to Jerry Coleman
            (Office of the District Attorney) in recognition of her accomplishments assisting hundreds of
            immigrants qualify for relief from deportation.



Appointment of President Pro Tempore
            At the request of President Peskin, Supervisor Mandelman assumed the chair at 2:48 p.m. The
            President resumed the chair 2:51 p.m.

            Ordinance amending the Administrative Code to streamline contracting for Vision Zero transportation
            projects by authorizing the Municipal Transportation Agency and the Department of Public Works to
            enter into and amend contracts without adhering to the Environment Code or to provisions relating to
            competitive bidding, equal benefits, local business enterprise utilization, and other requirements, for
            construction work and professional and other services relating to Vision Zero projects.
